In its cancellation letters, AHRQ said it was ending these grants to redirect resources toward its stated priorities, including patient safety, antibiotic resistance, telehealth, and autism. But much of the research it canceled was doing exactly that work. The agency cut studies in the very areas it said it wanted to protect.
